The Rotary Club Wuse II Abuja in collaboration with a non-governmental organization, Prince Igho Sadjere Hearts Humanitarian Foundation have donated items worth over N5 million to Sapele community of Delta State.
The Items donated inRclude five tricycles to mobility-challenged individuals, 1000 Notebooks and writing materials to pupils.
Others include bags of rice and cash gifts to widows and the aged, birthing kits to pregnant women, mosquito nets to mothers with under five-year-old children, baby bath kits to newborn babies and payment of medical bills of patients at the Central Hospital, Sapele.
A statement signed by the incoming president of Rotary Club of Wuse II, Abuja (2017-2018 Rotary Year), Amb. Prince Igho Sadjere, and made available to LEADERSHIP yesterday states, “It was a mega charity weekend for the people of Sapele, Delta State as one of their sons led members of his team to donate much needed aid to his community
The statement explained that the donations were made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Rotary Club of Wuse II, Abuja and Prince Igho Sadjere Hearts Humanitarian Foundation.
Members of the team include, senior special assistant to the speaker Delta State House of Assembly,Dr. Godwin Atose, vice principal, Chude Girls Grammer School, Sapele, Mrs. Claris Akpomiemie, charter president, Rotary Club of Wuse II, Abuja, Mr. Lucky Leleji, Damaris Hickson and Mr. Peter Eberiere.
In his vote of thanks to the good people of Sapele, Sadjere promised to do more humanitarian work for the people, stating that another area he will consider in the near future is the area of Peace education.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Mr. Daniel Friday thanked the donors for their show of love in remembering them in their time of need.
