The planning committee for the coronation of the Tor Tiv V, Orchivirigh Prof. James Ayatse has disclosed timelines for the commencement of activities that will mark the coronation of the monarch.
According to the chairman of the committee, general Atom Kpera (Retd), the activities marking the occasion will begin on March 1st, 2017 with cultural performance from the Jerchira and Jemgbagh intermediate blocs.
Jerchira comprise of Vandeikya and Konshisha while Jemgbah compose of Gboko, Buruku and Tarka areas.
Kpera noted that on March 2nd, will be the turn of Gwer (Gwer-East, Gwer-West) while the intermediate areas of Lobi (Makurdi and Guma) will hold their cultural performance same day.
The people of Kwande including Barakuv and Barajov will take their turn of the activities on March 4th, alongside Sankera intermediate area which has the Katsina-Ala, Ukum and Logo LGA areas respectively.
Also, it was gathered that the Tiv people in other states across the country and those in the diaspora will have their cultural performance on the third day.
The performance from varied blocs will hold at the Gboko local government secretariat in Gboko town of Benue state.
Accordingly, the coronation ceremony and oath of office would hold on March 4th, where the new Tor Tiv will be crowned at the popular JS Tarka stadium Gboko.
