The Aguma of Gomani, in Kwali area council, Alhaji Adamu Saba has decried the bad state of the roads, linking Dafa and Kundu wards and the deplorable state of the health centres in their villages.

In an interview with LEADERSHIP at the weekend, Saba noted that the past administration of the area council under Daniel Ibrahim made effort by constructing a bridge in Dafa community, but there was still much to be done.

He added that there were plans by the present chairman, Joseph Shazin to put the road in good state, which he believes will be done in the shortest time.

The traditional ruler who spoke through his son, Salifu Saba also pointed out other challenges of the communities to include lack of primary health to cater to the sick.

“We have well over 19 villages under Gomani chiefdom with some not even having clear boundaries which is another challenge we are facing.

Contractors have abandoned the job of building a health centre in Gomani for a long time now.

The chief of Tunga Sarki had to relocate his palace to his house so that the palace can be used as a clinic.

Damakusa has a clinic but it is redundant with the nurses there having to clear the hospital themselves, because of shortage of manpower,” he said.

He also noted that another challenge they are facing is their women having to go long distances to get water, because the boreholes are not enough, adding that a junior secondary school was also needed as there is only one among many villages in the area.
