In order to escape the nightmarish experience induced by the current
economic recession in the country, Nigerians especially Christians
have been admonished to practice holiness by consistently seeking and
obeying the word of God like never before.
A clergyman, Apostle Asiegbu Mathias Okunway of the Merryland Ministries Inc, Mpape, Abuja, gave the charge, adding that the current difficult economic condition Nigerians are suffering is predicated upon their disobedience to God.
Speaking during the official opening of the Abuja branch of the church, located along the Berger Quarry road, in Mpape, the cleric said that holiness cannot be achieved by ignorance, except one becomes converted before the Lord, adding that there is no chance of attaining holiness in life.
With the hindsight of the Bible, there is no doubt that holiness is nearness to God. When one finds himself difficult to become holy, it will be equally to maintain God’s directives in life. Holiness is being taught in the church. And by teaching, one becomes acquainted with what he or she has to do.
Holiness is not gotten from eating and drinking, but from hearing the
word of God. It is the word of God that builds up a man to the grade
of being holy.
So the current difficult economic condition Nigerians are suffering
is predicated upon their misbehavior; otherwise God has equipped the
world beyond what mankind can comprehend. The moment everyone could turn to
God, no doubt this would start working well.”
The cleric, who founded the church in 1976, in Delta State, said
acting under God’s command he stormed Abuja on 20th, September 2016,
and started the building of the church in Mpape.
He said the church building was raised up in thirty days. The land was
given to him on rent for a two-period, by Sarki Noma, the community
leader.
