The #BringBackOurGirls(BBOG) group yesterday, remembered mothers of the abducted Chibok girls especially as the nation celebrate the Mothers Day.

Speaking to LEADERSHIP, one of its members, Dr Manessah Allen, stated that the mothers of the missing girls have waited day and night for the return of their daughters since 2014.

He lamented that some of the parents have died while waiting anxiously for the return of their girls adding that those alive still await their safe return without giving up hope.

“On the Mother’s Day, BBOG reaches out to mothers of Chibok girls who are still missing. They still await the return of their daughters and pray that the federal government will fulfill its promise of bringing back the remaining girls,” he said.

Allen, therefore, called on the federal government to work towards rescuing the remaining girls as it will be three years since the girls were abducted.

Recall that the group  has stated that it was putting things in place to mark the three years abduction of the Chibok School girls who were abducted in April, 14 2014.

The co-convener of the group and former minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, who revealed this when the group paid a thank you visit to the corporate headquarters of LEADERSHIP Group in Abuja, stated that the group will also mark three years of its advocacy that starts on April 30, 2014.

She added that the group is lining up activities to mark the third year of the tragic event.

Ezekwesili explained that the group never anticipated that it would still remain in the agitation for the release of the girls three years on but added that it would not back out until the girls and other hostages are released.
