
It was a tragedy when two men lost their lives yesterday following an accident involving their motorcycle and a vehicle along Kaduna airport road.
An eye witness told our correspondent who was at the scene of the incident that the accident occurred because the road was a one way leading to the airport and the driver of the vehicle was over speeding.
The eye witness who preferred not to have his name mentioned in print said, the two people on the motorcycle who lost their lives instantly were coming from a village near the airport when the other overtook a parked vehicle and ran into them.
The accident victims whose identity was not known as at the time of filing the report are young men in their late twenties, the eyewitness confirmed.
Another eyewitness who expressed disappointment with the road not being dual opined that the accident would perhaps have been avoidable if the road was dualized.
The man who called his name simply as Bala and spoke in Hausa and as translated said, “I know with the closure of Abuja airport and Kaduna being used in its place now, we will be seeing this kind of things.
The government was supposed to have dualized this airport road, because people keep over speeding to meet up their flight time or pick up somebody from the airport,” he said.
The corpses of the accident whose motorcycle got burnt completely were evacuated by men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to unknown hospital.
The driver of the chrysler vehicle who would not tell his name simply said, he was driving to the airport to pick somebody who was to attend a wedding ceremony.
