Rivers State governor, Chief Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike has congratulated the Tor Tiv, His Majesty, Orchivirigh Professor James Ortese Ayatse, on his successful coronation as Tor Tiv V, the traditional ruler of the Tiv nation.
Wike, in a congratulatory message to Ayatse, said he is confident that the traditional ruler will bring his wealth of experience as asuccessful administrator and academic to bear on the development efforts of the Tiv nation.
The governor stated that from his personal knowledge of the newly crowned Tor Tiv, he remains confident that he would play critical role in the restoration of peace and security in the country.
He recalled that as the supervising minister of Education, he witnessed firsthand the patriotism, zeal and commitment Ayatse brought to bear in the establishment of the Federal University in Katsina State.
While praying God to grant the new Tor Tiv the courage and good health to diligently serve the Tiv Ethnic Nationality and humanity, Wike assured him of the deep respect and love of the Rivers people.
He stated that traditional rulers are key to the unity and development of the country as they serve as vital links between the state and the people.
